Marvel cookies September 12, 2011Posted by inspiredbywolfe in Sweet things.
I made sugar cookies which I flavoured with orange and vanilla, and rolled them out quite thickly so that the designs were properly ‘stamped’ into the dough.
In between cutting out the biscuits, I dipped the cutters in some flour, which successfully stopped the dough from getting stuck. I didn’t quite use the decorating guide provided, but still followed the general design.
The great thing about these cutters is that they provide enough detail to look great even if they’re plain and un-iced. There was a small HULK SMASH incident which resulted in some dents in Captain America’s helmet, but all in all I was very happy with how they turned out.
My only issue with these stamps is that they are on the large size; their size, coupled with the need to make the dough fairly thick to get all the detail properly imprinted, means that the cookies are quite large!
These were a lot of fun to make and ice, and the comic book geek inside me is excited at the idea of more comic book-related cooking paraphernalia!
